Virginia Arts Festival: Summer Strings! - Guest Conductor

“The Virginia Arts Festival is conducting a Summer Strings residency program for select high school musicians in Hampton Roads.

This unique, immersive workshop experience will include musical coaching with professional musicians, conductors, and instructors through chamber orchestra rehearsals, theory, history, and movement courses. Special attention is being given in the selection of the musical works and in the music history sessions to highlight a diverse set of composers that these students might otherwise not learn about in their traditional school curriculums.

The residency experience will culminate in a performance on Saturday, June 24 at 2pm in the Attucks Theatre. Free and open to the public – everyone is welcome to come celebrate a successful week of learning with these students!”
